India Pak Asian Game Cricket Final: India and Pakistan Face Off for Asian Games Gold

India and Pakistan Set for a High-Profile Asian Games Final

The India Pak asian game cricket final has become the major sporting attraction of the day as India and Pakistan prepare to face each other for the men’s cricket gold medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. The final is being played at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin, with the match scheduled to begin at 10:00 AM IST. The toss is scheduled for 9:30 AM IST.

The India Pak asian game cricket final brings together two of the most closely followed cricket teams in Asia. Whenever India and Pakistan meet in a major international tournament, attention extends well beyond the cricket field. This time, however, the immediate objective for both teams is clear: winning the Asian Games gold medal.

The India Pak asian game cricket final is also significant because India enter the match as the defending Asian Games men’s cricket champions. India won the gold medal at the Hangzhou Asian Games in 2023, where the final was abandoned because of rain and India were awarded the gold medal based on their higher T20I ranking. The 2026 tournament provides an opportunity for India to compete for the gold medal in a completed final.

India Reached the Final After a Strong Semi-Final

The India Pak asian game cricket final became possible after both teams won their respective semi-finals. India defeated Sri Lanka by a substantial margin to secure their place in the gold-medal match. Pakistan, meanwhile, defeated Bangladesh to book their place in the final.

India’s semi-final performance featured a strong batting display from Ishan Kishan, who scored an unbeaten 80 from 46 deliveries. India’s bowlers then restricted Sri Lanka to a very low total, completing a 124-run victory. The performance gave India’s players valuable momentum heading into the final.

The India Pak asian game cricket final therefore arrives after contrasting but convincing semi-final performances. India will look to maintain the balance between aggressive batting and disciplined bowling that helped them reach the gold-medal match.

Pakistan also produced a successful semi-final performance against Bangladesh. Their victory confirmed their place in the Asian Games men’s cricket final and set up the much-anticipated meeting with India.

Previous India-Pakistan Encounters Add Extra Interest

The India Pak asian game cricket final has attracted enormous attention partly because of the history between the two teams. India and Pakistan do not currently play regular bilateral cricket series, meaning their meetings generally take place in major multi-nation competitions.

Pakistan’s last victory over India in the 2022 Asia Cup came during the Super Four stage. That match remains part of the recent history between the two teams and is likely to be remembered whenever the sides meet again. Since then, India and Pakistan have continued to face each other in major international tournaments, creating another chapter in their long-running cricket rivalry.

The India Pak asian game cricket final is different from a league or group-stage fixture because the result directly determines the gold-medal winner. There is no opportunity for either team to compensate for a defeat in another match. Every batting partnership, bowling spell and fielding opportunity could therefore have a direct impact on the medal.

Shreyas Iyer Leads India

The India Pak asian game cricket final will see Shreyas Iyer lead the Indian side. India’s squad includes several familiar international names as well as players looking to make their mark on the Asian Games stage.

According to the current squad information, India’s group includes Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, Abhishek Sharma, Sanju Samson, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel, Tilak Varma, Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Ravi Bishnoi, Jasprit Bumrah and Arshdeep Singh, among others.

The presence of players such as Bumrah, Ishan Kishan, Axar Patel and other established performers gives India a combination of experience and attacking ability. The team’s batting depth will be particularly important in a T20 final, where scoring quickly during the middle and final overs can make a major difference.

The India Pak asian game cricket final will also provide a major test for India’s bowling attack. Bumrah’s experience in high-pressure international cricket could be valuable, while the spin options give the captain different tactical choices depending on the pitch and match situation.

Pakistan Also Have a Strong Squad

The India Pak asian game cricket final will feature a Pakistan side led by Sahibzada Farhan. Pakistan’s squad includes players such as Usman Khan, Saim Ayub, Hasan Nawaz, Abdul Samad, Arafat Minhas, Abrar Ahmed and other members of their Asian Games group.

Pakistan will look to their top-order batsmen to establish a strong foundation. In a T20 match, early momentum can be extremely important, especially against an opponent with experienced international bowlers.

Their bowling department will also have a major role to play. Controlling India’s powerful batting lineup during the powerplay and middle overs could become one of the central battles of the India Pak asian game cricket final.

For fans, the India Pak asian game cricket final offers another opportunity to watch the two neighbouring cricket nations compete on a major international stage. While the rivalry creates enormous interest, the contest remains a battle for an Asian Games medal, with both teams seeking to produce their best cricket on the day.
